Mountain Biking Mandy & Canyoning Carl

Have decided to quit the day-day thing... over it.

Have had some fab days in Dalat. We went mountain biking - it was just the two of us and Long and Huan, our two groovy guides.
We did some seriously steep descents, pedalled our way up hills that seemed to go forever and ever, and went on some tracks that were so muddy/unstable/rocky/steep - at one point I wanted to cry. Literally. I've never been 'proper' mountain biking before. Was full on but good fun.
Row fell off at one point and started to fall down a cliff/valley thing [see pic] - luckily avoided killing himself for second time in a week [after his last descent into the Nha Trang sea].
I too cheated death about 10 mins later when, riding past another steep valley I found myself drifting into a semi-subconscious state in an attempt to numb my aching calves and thumping heart - my tire slipped, and my bike tipped - I was SO close to falling down a massive valley - managed to stop though. Yeay. I wouldn't have like to arrive in Paris with a neck brace and crutchers. Just wouldn't have looked that 'chic' you know?...

We went canyoning yesterday - awesome. We've both done a bit of abseiling before, but not like this. Was rad going down the face of waterfalls and then slip sliding over the rocks. Fun fun.
Turned out there was a fam of 5 from Tassie that did it which was really nice - we had dinner with them and two other Tasmanians they knew that evening. Random. Lovely night.
The day reminded us of our recent rafting trip down the Franklin with the Ashleys - great memories.
