Shaun White

Shaun White is here at Whistler shooting his latest movie - he's a bloody legend. At just 21 y.o., Shaun is arguably the best park snowboarder in the world. For those who care, here is some info on him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_White.

Shaun was on Blackcomb today apparently doing 1,260's (i.e. 3.5 rotations) after 1,260's on the pipe like it was a walk in the park. We are going to try and find him tomoz and watch some of the filming.

Ainse & I were quietly walking through the village today and spotted him at the base of Whistler - it was just us (sipping on our soy lattes), Shaun, a camerman, and another dude - I just stopped and went;

G: "That's um.. that's um.. that's ahhh...."

A: "Shaun White??"

G: "Yeah!"

A & G proceeded to stand there, 3m away - in awe quietly sipping on their lattes - I wanted to say something but all I could think of was, "You're cool!" - which, I decided wasn't a very cool thing to say...

We have no doubt that Shaun was thinking the exact same thing (i.e. starting at us, wanting to tell us we were cool but thinking he may not seem so cool by saying it).

After 30 secs of us just standing there obviously starting at him, he walked away. Needless to say, it was an exciting time for everyone involved.
